Day ?

OK, I've lost count on the days...sorry about that. Today is Wednesday, June 25th...a day much like the others. It's almost 5 Texas time and I am headed for the golf course to continue honing my skills so I can clobber the other golfers in Hawaii. My flight is three weeks away from today and the excitment is growing. I have a lot to do before then but I will get it done...or not! Lunch, by the way, today was a Texas Double Whopper with jalepenos...some fries and a DP. Kim is teaching VBS at church and tonight is the final night for that. OK...I guess I'll bid you farewell for now and head to the links. Please don't tell Wade that I am going to beat him like a drum in golf in Hawaii...I want it to be a surprise.

Day 9 and 10

Nothing special to report about me on these days. Sorry to not disappoint you. I did wait in the doctor's office waiting room for almost two hours with Kim yesterday afternoon...yes, I did say something to the nurse who then brought me a drink and a cookie to calm my fuming...it worked as I can be bought. Last night, we went to some friends(I thought they were friends) home who live on a golf course...I thought we were going to get to play golf but that did not work out...it may have been a ploy to get me to go to their house...surely not...the taco salad was good....and he did lend me two golf wedges to try out. I am supposed to go back there next week when we will play golf...yeah...right. Today at lunch I was the emcee (or is it M.C.) at a REHAB function where we celebrated our new building remodeling project...I thought I was pretty funny...I may be the only one who thought that...although there were a few laughs(three is few, right?) Tomorrow I shoot clays in the morning in the ACS Clay Shoot and in the afternoon attend the WTRC Lamb and Goat Sale...yeah!!! I'm sure it will be a special day.

Day 8

Yes, day 8, I thought it would never arrive. It was a busy one with radio and Rehab. It was meeting after meeting after meeting today...I can't get anything done because I am in meetings. Lunch was a hamburger and fries...yum, yum. I was going to go play golf late this afternoon but have run out of energy...so maybe tomorrow. I did get the yard mowed last night so that is off my list for now...although the front needs it...I know you don't care. OK, what else? I guess that's it since I feel that you may not care...come back soon. Day 9 is tomorrow...oh boy.

Day 5, 6 and 7

OK...I know I am getting behind on the blog, but, that's OK...it's my blog. Morning of Day 5 was at church at Southern Hills which included a video that brought back memories of Danny Jr. It was called "99 Balloons" and was about a baby who lived only 99 days...almost too much to handle. I sometimes wish that worship planners would be careful about what they present but I guess it is their job to open us up...and they did on Sunday. I worried about young families that may have been present that that message may have also hit hard. I've said it before and really mean it that one can not know the hurt unless they have been there and experienced it. The positive that came from it was that it made us think about our first born son that we lost at birth and how wonderful he was and would have been. We enjoyed Father's Day lunch at Perini's. Kim and I then worked in the afternoon on a project together...and watched the U.S. Open Golf Tournament. I did not get around to mowing which still needs to be done. Day 6 involved work at the radio station and the Rehab...nothing too exciting. Day 7 is today and it's much the same...radio and Rehab. Tonight, I will mow if it cools down enough. Lucy is missing in the high grass so I hope to find her...just kidding.

Day 4

I am actually a day late on this one but that's OK...it's my blog. Yesterday was a fun day as I began the golfing. I played in a tournament in Sweetwater that the Sweetwater Country Club. My team shot 6 under and finsihed 2nd to last...but that's OK it was fun and I was hitting the ball long and straight...just not long enough and straight enough to score better. I am looking at it as practice getting ready for golf in Hawaii in four weeks....I've got to get my game in shape so I can put the hurt on my son Wade along with John T and John R. Yesterday afternoon was also a blast...or should I say "splash". Kim and I took the Golden Retrievers to the lake where they swam. Stew Bear(Wade's dog) was the most adventureous swimmer as he went out further than the others and retrieved a large stick I had thrown out. Mollie was the bravest because she is almost blind and still swam and had a great time(at least I think she did...dogs are somewhat silent...except the Da Bear) Speaking of Da Bear, he was the best diver as he was the only one to dive down into the water and get the top of his head wet. He was also the grumpiest even growling at Da Stew in the water. Mollie disappeared for several minutes when the dogs were taking a break from the water. We found her and Da Bear chewed her out...not literally. Also, at the lake is a Smokey the Bear sign at which Da Bear growled at...I don't know why. Well, that is enoguh about day 4.

Day 3

Day 3...well, as you can see to the right I have added some of my favorite pictures to the site...yes, I am an accomplished photographer having won several awards at the West Texas Fair. I really enjoy shooting...not only my camera but my shotgun and also shooting a good round of golf. Photography is my passion and probably what I am best at. There is nothing better than getting a great picture...especially a sunrise or sunset. I also enjoying hunting with a rifle but truth be known I had rather shoot an animal with my camera rather than a gun...no mess involved and no game warden looking for me (just kidding).

Day 2

OK...day 2...just today I have been a radio announcer, fundraiser, husband, father, brother, mentor, photographer, graphic designer, dog lover, truck driver, friend and boss...to name just a few things. Tomorrow, I will try and do more...like be a golfer. I do wear many hats but enjoy most of them...most of the time. For some reason, I do not feel like writing a whole lot...so, for now that is all. I guess I could put short story writer on my list...but, I won't...unless I already did. It's 5 o'clock and time to put this to bed. Join me again...at a later time.

Day One

Day One...really it's day 18,666 in my life...feel free to check my math. It was a good day and will even be a better day if I can get to the golf course or gun club late this afternoon. I started today like most weekdays with my radio show, followed by about 9 hours at the West Texas Rehab raising money for a great cause. Lunch was from Burger King...a hamburger, fries and a Dr Pepper...it doesn't get much better than that. I'm wondering now if the hamburger had a tomato on it...I hope not with all that's going on with that fruit these days. Dinner tonight is believed to be steak and salad...I will check to make sure there are no tomatoes in the salad. That's a wrap for now...come back tomorrow for more of my innermost thoughts.
