I'm Back

OK...I am back from Hawaii....was I missed? I doubt it. That's one great thing about my dog...he misses me. I'll catch you up later.

Hawaii

OK boys and girls, children of all ages...time is almost here for the big trip to Hawaii...Kim leaves tomorrow and Kate gets there Monday. Wade is leaving form OK City and will meet me in Dallas and we will fly to Hawaii together arriving Wednesday afternoon. I've worked on my golf game enough to maybe not be embarrassed but one never knows. I have a battle cry and it's "Ready for Hawaii". Everyone around the office is a little jealous...especially when I yell out my battle cry...they should be jealous...it's going to be fun. Camera is ready...bills are paid...and I only have two more work days left. Ryan is filling in for me at the radio station and I hope he does great...except not to good so I won't be replaced. I know both of my loyal listeners will miss me. On another subject, I had a good week at the Rehab coming up with a new $10,000 sponsor for the Dinner Show...thanks to a great friend. We are nearing $145,000 in table sales and sponsors for the event, I feel that we are ahead of schedule but we better be with me being out for 10 days. Well, it's Friday afternoon about 4 pm and I'm heading South...that is home to help Kim get ready to leave. Aloha!

Day ???

It's Thursday July 3, one day after my son Wade's 21st birthday and one day before Independence Day....the two kind of fit together. This morning on my radio show I interviewed our U.S. Senator Kay Bailey Hutchison...that was cool, she is a nice lady. I also visited with my good friend Homer Hillis...he is always fun to talk to...we talked about doing business on the internet...he has made millions doing it and I am always trying to get him to give me millions for the REHAB...it hasn't worked yet. Tomorrow Kim and I go to Dallas to meet Wade and he and I are playing golf at Tour 18 Dallas. The course is 18 replica holes of famous courses...that should be fun...especially #9 which is a re-creation of #17 at Sawgrass....the island green. That makes me think of my daughter Kate who is on an island...American Samoa...some 6,000 miles from Abilene or 100 hours driving 60 MPH...if you could and you can't because again it's an island. We meet up with her in Hawaii and I am really looking forward to seeing her after 7 weeks. Well, I must wrap this up and head to the house...don't tell my boss Woody that I am leaving early. Ready for Hawaii...that's my new battle cry.

Day ?

OK, I've lost count on the days...sorry about that. Today is Wednesday, June 25th...a day much like the others. It's almost 5 Texas time and I am headed for the golf course to continue honing my skills so I can clobber the other golfers in Hawaii. My flight is three weeks away from today and the excitment is growing. I have a lot to do before then but I will get it done...or not! Lunch, by the way, today was a Texas Double Whopper with jalepenos...some fries and a DP. Kim is teaching VBS at church and tonight is the final night for that. OK...I guess I'll bid you farewell for now and head to the links. Please don't tell Wade that I am going to beat him like a drum in golf in Hawaii...I want it to be a surprise.

Day 9 and 10

Nothing special to report about me on these days. Sorry to not disappoint you. I did wait in the doctor's office waiting room for almost two hours with Kim yesterday afternoon...yes, I did say something to the nurse who then brought me a drink and a cookie to calm my fuming...it worked as I can be bought. Last night, we went to some friends(I thought they were friends) home who live on a golf course...I thought we were going to get to play golf but that did not work out...it may have been a ploy to get me to go to their house...surely not...the taco salad was good....and he did lend me two golf wedges to try out. I am supposed to go back there next week when we will play golf...yeah...right. Today at lunch I was the emcee (or is it M.C.) at a REHAB function where we celebrated our new building remodeling project...I thought I was pretty funny...I may be the only one who thought that...although there were a few laughs(three is few, right?) Tomorrow I shoot clays in the morning in the ACS Clay Shoot and in the afternoon attend the WTRC Lamb and Goat Sale...yeah!!! I'm sure it will be a special day.

Day 8

Yes, day 8, I thought it would never arrive. It was a busy one with radio and Rehab. It was meeting after meeting after meeting today...I can't get anything done because I am in meetings. Lunch was a hamburger and fries...yum, yum. I was going to go play golf late this afternoon but have run out of energy...so maybe tomorrow. I did get the yard mowed last night so that is off my list for now...although the front needs it...I know you don't care. OK, what else? I guess that's it since I feel that you may not care...come back soon. Day 9 is tomorrow...oh boy.
